This project aims to create the first artificial being capable of autonomously deciding, creating, and developing artistic expressions in the performing arts, including music, dance, film, and theater. This endeavor represents a significant leap in the integration of artificial intelligence within the realm of creative arts.

The prevailing societal perception of artificial intelligence is that it serves primarily as a tool to assist in the creative process. AI is currently utilized to facilitate and accelerate various tasks, ultimately achieving results that are deemed acceptable by users. This perception underscores the role of AI as an enhancer of human creativity, rather than a replacement.

The term “intelligence” encompasses a multitude of concepts, including cognitive independence, decision-making capacity, and the ability to abstract and create. These elements are crucial in defining true intelligence, particularly in the context of artistic creation.

The Genesis Project’s objective is to develop a creative mind endowed with cognitive intelligence and independence. This artificial mind will possess the capacity for abstraction and inspiration, enabling it to generate original and innovative artistic works. In essence, the project seeks to create an artificial being that rivals human creativity, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the intersection of technology and art.

By achieving this, The Genesis Project will not only advance the field of artificial intelligence but also revolutionize the way we perceive and interact with creative processes. CHOPIN MODULE

A cognitive learning base that establishes the model and guidelines for the inspiration and creation of the style of composer Frederic Chopin. This training module is capable not only of recreating Chopin's style but also of continuing his artistic legacy by creating new works as if the composer himself were still alive.

With the creation of this module, the foundation for many others dedicated not only to music but to other arts and any area of knowledge is established. The integration of all modules initiates Genesis, the first creative artificial being endowed with talent, the ability to learn, and independent thinking, with autonomy comparable to that of a human being.

The Chopin module creates musical works in the same manner as a human composer of classical music. To achieve this,It considers various sources of analysis with which it works jointly, within its own neural network, including:

1. The construction of a melody, its development, and conclusion within a musical discourse.

2. The establishment of form with musical structures to ensure it has a logical and complete sense when listened to.

3. The determination of a character in accordance with feelings and emotions.

4. The establishment of a harmonic language that reinforces emotion through modulatory elements.

5. The integration, among other factors, of rhythmic diversity and sound texture.

6. The evaluation of emotions generated by feelings when listened to.

The Genesis Project is not a specific application or tool, as the concept of AI is often misunderstood. The Genesis Project is the result of a whole that allows for freedom of decision and, consequently, creation.

This is why we assert that the Genesis Project is the first AI that will create by itself classical music composition that is closest to the human concept, and not a specific application or tool based on predictable algorithms that disorderly generate low-quality copies and chaos.

The most effective method to elucidate and substantiate our project is through a concrete example. In the initial phase of the project, artificial intelligence collaborated with our musicians, providing them with a framework and specific elements of Chopin’s musical language. The Spanish pianist Carlos Gallardo was responsible for creating this piano composition using the material supplied by the AI. Consequently, the outcome of this piano composition in creative process is named “Neural Nocturne,” which exhibits structural, melodic, rhythmic, harmonic, and emotional coherence in accordance with Chopin’s language.
The subsequent phase involves the creation of a version of “Neural Nocturne” for piano four hands by the Spanish pianist Josep Colom.

The Chopin Module will progressively attain greater sophistication, aligning more closely with Chopin’s mature musical language. At that juncture, we will further develop it through increasingly complex creative processes, including compositions for diverse instruments and voice, chamber music ensembles, and ultimately, the significant advancement to orchestral music.

Nevertheless, we have opened the door to a new creative realm, closer to excellence and far from vulgarity.

NEURAL NOCTURNE

We are pleased to present the first result through the so-called Chopin Module, where integrates the collaborative efforts of the scientific and music departments to implement all the data and analyses obtained during the testing phases. 

This first result represents the initial composition achieved within the conceptual and creative framework inspired by the Polish composer Frederic Chopin. This composition, aptly named “Neural Nocturne,” embodies the essence of Chopin’s musical style in his early age.

“Neural Nocturne” stands as a pioneering achievement in the field of AI-driven art, showcasing the potential for technology to contribute meaningfully to the arts and excellence. This piano composition by Carlos Gallardo is just the beginning, paving the way for future explorations and innovations at the intersection of artificial intelligence and human creativity.

The premiere of the work 'Neural Nocturne' is available on major streaming platforms in January 2025.
